Angela Kermeur has a Bachelor of Social Work from Florida Gulf Coast University, Master of Social Work from Barry University with a Certificate in Trauma-Informed and Neuro-Responsive Social Work Practice, and is in-progress with a Ph.D. in Clinical Christian Counseling from a National Christian Counselor Association (NCCA) program within In His Image Institute of Counseling & Training. She is licensed and ordained with Renaissance Coalition as a minister, and is anticipated to become an NCCA Clinical Pastoral Counselor in the near future. Kermeur has certifications in Crisis Prevention Intervention, Basic Life Support, Adult Mental Health First Aid, and Arno Profile System Analysis.
Kermeur has a background working with various vulnerable populations within social work, from older adults to children within the dependency system, and has worked in multiple practice settings for systemic and individual change.
Through her own health journey over two decades, Kermeur has learned and overcome complex chronic illness – from mold toxicity, Lyme disease, Epstein-Barr Virus, parasites, and more. Her own experiences led her to learn from multiple experts in the field of functional medicine and Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS), eventually working alongside and advocating for the condition on the legislative and academic level.
Kermeur is not a state-licensed mental health therapist and provides services under the church as an ordained minister and pastoral counselor.
Meet the Counselor
Her Health Testimony
Emuna is the Hebrew word for ‘faith’ – an unshakeable, active trust in God that is beyond human logic.
This is the type of faith I desire my clients to have in their healing. It brings us closer to our life purpose and fulfillment of our whole identity.
As Jesus spoke to those He healed, “Your faith has made you well.”
Angela began experiencing chronic pain at age five, which progressed into an autoimmune condition by the time she was sixteen. Her first major diagnosis, endometriosis, was the start to her chronic illness journey; where she would go from doctor-to-doctor searching for “the cure” and an explanation for her symptoms. In the years that followed, she pursued numerous treatments within allopathic (western) medicine, with limited improvement.
Over time, her diagnoses expanded to include fibromyalgia, environmental illnesses, and ultimately Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS). At the most severe point in her journey, she became bed-bound and considered herself disabled.
Through sustained effort in pursuing functional medicine interventions and healing her soul, alongside her faith in full restoration, Angela now lives an active and fulfilling life—one that would have been unimaginable during her most difficult years.
Angela aspires to see each person overcome their circumstances, gain optimal health (regardless of the diagnosis), and live out their life purpose to the fullest.
