- 02No, Kermeur is a pastoral counselor ordained through Renaissance Coalition and not a state-licensed counselor. Due to this, we do not accept insurance or provide “superbills” for clients. If cost is a barrier, contact the office to discuss potential options.
- 03Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS) is a complex condition where individuals navigate traditional healthcare systems and explore alternate pathways of healing, like functional medicine and nutrition. Due to the complexity of the illness, multi-system impact, and overlap with common autoimmune conditions, a CIRS-literate counselor provides knowledge and experience that can be difficult for chronic illness clients to find when searching for counseling services. In addition, given Kermeur's background in research, legislative advocacy, and program development for CIRS and mold illness, her multi-level knowledge provides a unique perspective that expands beyond the counseling sphere.
- 04Temperament is the in-born, God-given traits that a person is born with. It is the foundation for how we develop through life, where our life experience forms around these traits. Being able to identify one’s temperament can highlight areas of strength, areas for improvement, and emotional needs. The Arno Profile Survey (previously called Temperament Assessment Profile) is a unique assessment that bypasses learned behavior to identify one’s temperament. It uncovers three major areas within a person’s soul and provides a profile to assist in self-awareness/improvement. The APS has reported over a 97% accuracy rate in identifying the correct temperament blend.
- 05All counseling clients will complete the APS prior to their first appointment, with a one-time fee of $60. The APS will help accelerate the counseling process by adding another layer of understanding to who the client is designed as a person. Individuals who complete the APS typically learn more about themselves through the profile review and find that learning their temperament type improved the relationships in their life. Completing the APS is optional for CIRS Coaching clients.
- 06Individuals who are interested in completing a temperament profile for self-awareness purposes may contact the office for more information.
- 07In-person sessions are available based on scheduling and distance. Rates and location will be determined between the client and counselor. Potential locations include: · Public Park for Walk & Talk sessions · Himalayan Salt Room at a local spa · Local church or office
- 08Walk & Talk is based on the principles that can be found in bilateral stimulation and mind-body connection. Walking activates regions in our brain to allow the integration between the emotional and logical brain, helping individuals process through difficult emotions or memories with greater ease. In addition, walking provides an opportunity to gain the benefits of nature and physical activity. There are countless benefits. Walk & Talk is held outdoors, where the client and counselor walk together during the session.
- 09All payments will be made through PayPal. One-on-one sessions will be invoiced while support groups are paid upfront.
- 10Clients must cancel or reschedule appointments at least 24 hours prior to their scheduled time. No-shows will be treated as cancellations. No-shows are considered any arrival after 15 minutes past the appointment start time.
- 11Pastoral counseling sessions and information are confidential according to clergy-penitent privilege, not Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) laws. Coaching sessions do not hold the same privilege due to the role. Mandated reporting laws are also recognized. Questions about confidentiality can be directed to the office.
